Core Responsibilities
As the lead developer for this project, I was responsible for managing the team and overseeing various aspects of the game's development. This involved leading meetings with the team and conducting business communications with outside organisations, such as Chroma Ventures and private investors through SOSE. I also played a key role in securing funding for the project by creating and presenting pitch decks to potential investors.
In addition to managing the project and securing funding, I was also involved in several aspects of the game's creative development. I helped to create the script for the game's story and was responsible for conceptualising and designing the game's levels, from initial grey-boxing to final implementation. I also created 3D models for the game's environment and characters, ensuring that they were both visually appealing and functional within the game.
To keep the team on track and ensure that development was progressing smoothly, I managed a Discord server for communication and created a schedule using Hack n’ Plan. I also adjusted tasks as necessary to ensure that development remained on track and that the final product met our high standards. Overall, my core responsibilities on this project involved both creative and managerial duties, ensuring that the team was able to create a compelling and engaging game within the project's scope and timeline.
Project Conclusion and Reflection
I'm incredibly proud of the progress we made in conceptualizing and designing the game and its world. Through collaboration and hard work, we were able to create a rich and immersive concept that was both exciting and unique.
While the project was unable to continue due to personal circumstances, I remain grateful for the experience and the opportunity to work with such a talented and dedicated team. I believe that the work we did together will serve us well in future projects and that we all gained valuable skills and insights through the process. As a game developer, setbacks are a natural part of the creative process, and I am committed to using this experience as a learning opportunity and a source of motivation for future projects. I am excited to continue exploring new and innovative ideas in the field and look forward to sharing my passion for game development with others.
