Project: High Noon
Hop aboard Project High Noon, a wild and exciting endless runner Tower Defence game that takes you back in time to the Wild West!
At present, this project is under development with my fellow Abertay Alumni, using the Unity game engine.
Endless Runner meets Tower Defense in the Wild West
Project High Noon is a game that combines the elements of an endless runner with tower defence. It is designed to place players in the role of managing and protecting locomotives and carriages as they travel through the Wild West. Players can upgrade their carriages and equip them with different turrets to help defend against enemies.
We have created a prototype of Project High Noon that currently features a train spawning and following a procedurally generated Bezier curve. We're also testing enemy spawning mechanics that have them chasing after the player, and there are settings that can be adjusted to manipulate the proximity, speed, and amount of enemies that spawn in relation to the moving train.
While this prototype is still in the early stages of development, it has allowed us to visualise how the mechanics of the game would work. We're excited about the potential of this game to be entertaining, and we plan to incorporate many other features and mechanics to enhance replayability.
Responsibilities
My responsibilities on this project include developing the game concept and design, including the levels and mechanics. I am also responsible for maintaining design documents, design specifications, and wireframes to effectively communicate the design. Additionally, I collaborate with the programmer to ensure that the design vision is accurately implemented.
